NGMA is in the process of building its photography
collection. Perhaps the Lala Deen Dayal
collection of photographs is one of the greatest
assets of the NGMA. These photographs, bringing
a whiff of a century-old princely culture, still
convey a sense of freshness. The photographers
of later times also excel in this ability. Raghu
Rai, an outstanding photographer of our times,
records the distinguished aura in the home of an
aristocratic Bengali Family. Other contemporary
photographers who are represented in the NGMA
are Sanjeev Saith, Parthiv Shah, Dayanita Singh,
Vivan Sundaram and Nemai Ghosh.
